The Women's Board of Montgomery General Hospital has been in operation since 1920. It is a volunteer service organization made up of more than 140 members. The primary fund-raising activities of The Women's Board are the
Thrift Shop (corner of Route 108 and Prince Philip Drive),
Hospital Gift Shop (main lobby of hospital), scholarship fund,
Annual Picnic & Bazaar, car seat program, and
Gifts of Light. These services offer each member the opportunity to act as an ambassador in representing the Hospital to the community. In many respects our members are as much on the front lines as the Hospital staff and Board of Directors. It is clear that our members feel pride and genuine involvement in each of the projects, and are dedicated to helping their community.

Luncheon Meetings
All members are required to attend luncheon meetings. The Women's Board business is discussed along with informative and/or educational presentations. Each member is asked to assist at one luncheon during the year. The luncheon fee is five dollars.
February: Second Tuesday - full board luncheon
April: Second Tuesday - full board luncheon
May: MGH volunteer appreciation luncheon
June: Second Tuesday - full board luncheon
July: 4th Tuesday - Picnic and Bazaar
September: Second Tuesday - full board luncheon
November: Second Tuesday - full board luncheon
December: First Sunday - Gifts of Light Program

Active Member
- Attend two regular meetings with a sponsoring member from The Women's Board
- Letter of recommendation approved by the Executive Board
- Volunteer for at least 50 hours on The Women's Board committees
- Serve on Luncheon Committee once a year
- Active members may vote, hold office and serve on the Executive Committee
- No dues requirement
Associate Member
- Letter of recommendation approved by the Executive Board
- Payment of $25 in annual dues
- Attendance at regular meetings and volunteering for The Women's Board committees is encouraged but not required
- Associate members may not vote, hold office or serve on the Executive Committee
Honorary Member
- May be bestowed upon individuals who have made significant, long-term contributions to The Women's Board and requires a majority vote of the Executive Committee.

- Provide a source for high quality used clothing and household goods. Proceeds of sales benefit Montgomery General Hospital.
- Volunteers welcomed to serve as hostesses, sorters and in sales.
- Time: Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Hospital Gift Shop

Located in the Lobby of Montgomery General Hospital
- Provides employees, patients and their guests with a convenient on-site location to purchase gifts, magazines, flowers, cards and candy. Proceeds of sales benefit Montgomery General Hospital.
- Volunteers welcomed for sales and pricing.
- Hours: Monday - Friday 10 AM - 7 PM, Saturday & Sunday 1PM - 4PM
Gifts of Light
- Provide a holiday celebration at the hospital each winter for employees and the community
- "Lights" on the trees are in honor of or memory of designated persons
Annual Picnic & Bazaar
- The Women's Board of Montgomery General Hospital hosts an annual Picnic and Bazaar to provide a traditional community summer celebration which features our famous fried chicken and corn-on-the-cob. Other attractions include live entertainment, crafts, books and more

Scholarship Program for Nursing and Allied Health Fields
Through The Women's Board of Montgomery General Hospital, scholarships are available to all residents within the service area of Montgomery General Hospital or persons identified with Montgomery General Hospital.
