Safe Haven Program: An alternative to leaving infants in unsafe places

Do You Know?

  • If you are about to give birth, and are unable or unwilling to care for a baby
  • If you are alone and overwhelmed at the thought of the responsibility of caring for a baby
  • If you are sure that there is nowhere to turn just when you need help most
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ABANDON YOUR INFANT!!!

MONTGOMERY COUNTY HAS A “SAFE HAVEN” PROGRAM.
YOU CAN GIVE UP YOUR NEWBORN BABY SAFELY, LEGALLY AND CONFIDENTIALLY.

Just contact your local hospital or police department.
  • You can leave your unharmed baby within 3 days of the baby’s birth.
  • You don’t have to give your name - the only information needed is any medical information about the newborn.
YOUR BABY WILL BE SAFE AND CARED FOR!
You will not be criminally charged.
