Why Should I Volunteer at Montgomery General?
Montgomery General Hospital offers volunteers a warm, friendly environment and a broad range of exciting opportunities. Volunteering gives you the chance to apply your skills and learn new ones, offer support to others, develop new friendships, learn about contemporary healthcare, and contribute to the well-being of your community. We have a great need for your talents and time, and make every effort to ensure that volunteers at Montgomery General Hospital have gratifying experiences.
Who Can Volunteer at Montgomery General?
Our volunteers are men and women, ages 15 and up, who donate their time on a regular basis. They're high school and college students, retired persons and others looking for new and rewarding experiences.
Why Are Volunteers Important?
Our volunteers are important because they contribute their time, energy, ideas and ideals to many parts of American life! The value of volunteer work is in the countless hours of unpaid caring, self-less commitment and service offered by our friends in the community.
How Much Time Do I Need to Give?
We ask for a minimum commitment of four hours per week and request you continue with us long enough to accrue 100 hours. Beyond that, it is up to you.
What Kind of Work Will I Do?
We offer a variety of settings for our volunteers. If there's something specific you'd like to do, just ask! Our goal is to have you perform meaningful activities that are of interest to you.
A few examples of areas we use volunteers include, but is not limited to:
- Emergency department
- Environmental services
- Information desk
- Marketing
- Medical records
- Nutrition services
- Patient care
- Patient waiting areas
- Emergency services representative
