Skilled Nursing Services
Nurses at MGH Home Health have the expertise to carry out your physician's instructions utilizing holistic and comprehensive nursing interventions. They also have the resources and technical skills to perform many specialized procedures ordered for their patients. Our registered nurses serve as case managers, coordinating the patient's care, thus assuring continuity of care. They also work with the families, social services and physicians to ensure that emotional, as well as medical needs of the patient are met.
Mental Health Nursing
Psychiatric nursing is a specialty that focuses on the assessment and alteration of human behavior. It begins with the assessment of a person's perceptions, thoughts, feelings and behaviors through listening and observing. Once the patient's problems have been identified, the nurse will plan interventions in consultation with the patient, family and physician. The psychiatric nurse's primary goal is to improve the patient's level of functioning.
Home Infusion Program
MGH Home Health's Home Infusion Program allows patients to remain in their homes, rather than be admitted to a hospital or skilled nursing facility for infusion therapy. We assist the patient in becoming more independent with their IV line and medication infusion. We administer intravenous therapies such as: total parenteral nutrition, peripheral parenteral nutrition, antibiotic therapy, hydration therapy, blood and blood products, chemotherapy, pain management and medications such as: Lasix, corticosteroids, Amphoteracin-B, antiemetics and others.
Therapy Services
MGH Home Health offers a comprehensive therapy program including: physical therapy, speech pathology, occupational therapy and rehabilitation nursing. The goal of our therapy program is to develop realistic functional goals for the patient and family, and help them to achieve these goals and restore the patient to their maximum level of independence and function.
Home Care Aide Services
MGH Home Health provides certified home care aides to assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, ambulation, meal preparation and light housekeeping duties.
Prior to employment all staff receive comprehensive criminal background checks and drug and alcohol testing.
