Cancer May Run in Your Family…
But Hope Can, Too!

Knowing your risk and doing everything you can to lower it- could make a difference for you, for your family, and for your future healthcare choices. Even if there is a pattern of cancer in your family, cancer doesn’t have to be inevitable. You may benefit from learning more about your own risk. Current cancer research shows that early detection along with proactive medical care has been proven to help reduce cancer risk and save lives. Tests are available to determine inherited risk for breast, ovarian, colorectal, endometrial cancers and melanoma. Most insurance companies will reimburse for these tests and all information is kept strictly confidential.

The sooner you know your risk the sooner you can do something about it.

If cancer runs in your family it’s important to realize you have options. Your doctor, genetic counselor, or other healthcare provider can help you find out about ways to reduce your risk now, including:

  • Increased Surveillance
  • Preventive Drug Therapy
  • Preventive Surgery
