Emergency Department
When you or a loved one needs emergency medical help, the obvious choice for outstanding care is the Emergency Department at Montgomery General Hospital. Our goal is to provide patients who are experiencing a sudden illness or injury with compassionate care in a professional and efficient environment.
The 21-bed Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day by physicians and nurses who are trained to care for a wide range of emergent health concerns, including cardiac, orthopedic and pediatrics. The Emergency physicians are all board-certified specialists in Emergency Medicine, and are supported by a full complement of medical and surgical specialites and sub-specialties, as well as nurses trained to focus on emergent care, with certification in ACLS and PALS, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
From the moment patients come through our "secured" doors and are assessed by our Triage Nurse, they receive outstanding medical care in a facility that is both efficient and private. Our fully equipped examination areas provide the very latest in emergency medical eqipment.
The Department also has a Fast Track area for those patients who require non-emergent care such as earaches, simple cuts, minor fractures, etc.
To ensure every patient's privacy, case discussion, consultations, examination and treatment are confidential and are conducted privately.
We believe the patient's family and loved ones are an important part of the patient's care. Whenever possible, family members will be able to stay with patients during treatment to provide comfort and helpful information.
Pediatric Center
The Pediatric Center is a 7-bed Inpatient and Outpatient care area focusing on our pediatric population (<18 years of age). We have a specially trained nursing staff and Board Certified Pediatricians to serve the families of Montgomery County 24 hours a day/7 days a week.. They will provide your child the highest quality care in a warm and nurturing environment.
At MGH we hope you and your family will never need the services of our Pediatric Center; however, should the need arise, the Center is open round-the-clock and accepts all types of pediatric needs, ranging from emergency visits to short-term observation to in-patient admissions. Rest assured, Montgomery General Hospital is providing the highest quality care right at your doorstep!
ED Behavioral Health area
This area is for the care of persons coming to the ED with behavioral health complaints (psychiatric or substance abuse complaints).
Once medically cleared by the ED Physician, our CIS team visits with the patient and identifies a working plan for the patient. Some of these patients may be discharged, others receive outpatient treatment, and others as a voluntary inpatient at MGH or involuntary patient at another facility.
