Vice President of Patient Care Services

 

Since joining Montgomery General Hospital in 2006, Connie Stone has led several efforts to improve patient care. Chief among them was the restructuring of the division of nursing to enhance information flow and clarify responsibilities. As a result of her work, the hospital has seen improved patient satisfaction scores and increased retention of nurses. Ms. Stone is responsible for more than 400 employees and a $35 million annual budget.

 

Before becoming an MGH vice president, Ms. Stone was director of emergency, pediatric and peri-operative services at the hospital. She had primary responsibility for the 22-bed emergency services department which handled more than 35,000 patient visits, 7-bed pediatric department, and peri-operative services.

 

A graduate of Parkersburg Community College in West Virginia, Ms. Stone received her bachelor of science in nursing from Salem College in West Virginia. Her master of science in management/health care administration hails from West Virginia Graduate College, now Marshall University.

 

Before joining MGH, Ms. Stone worked for Cardinal Health Consulting Services in McGaw Park, Illinois where she focused on improving hospital operational efficiencies. She also served as director of emergency/trauma services for Dimensions Healthcare System’s Prince Georges Hospital Center in Cheverly, Maryland.

 

Licensed in Maryland, Ms. Stone sits on the board of advisors for Montgomery College. In 2002, she served as secretary for the Maryland Emergency Nurses Association. She remains a trauma nurse core course instructor and a professional medical/legal consultant.
